Chena Hot Springs is a natural hot springs located 60 miles from the town of Fairbanks, AK. The outdoor rock pool is scorching hot and full of natural healing mineral water! People travel from around the world just to come soak in the natural healing water.

Don't be alarmed if while soaking in the rock pool you look up and see the aurora dancing above your head. It is very common to see the aurora at Chena hot Springs at night.
This picture was taken December 2019 out at Chena Hot Springs. The outside temperature was around -45 below! Inside the healing waters of the natural hot springs you stay amazingly warm as you soak in peace and tranquility.

The only downside to this whole trip is the dangerous 60 mile drive from Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs. The road is very narrow and full of frost heaves. The road can be dangerously slick at times making driving very difficult. If driving at night, make sure your vehicle has moose lights! Moose run out of the woods and in front of your car all the way there and a hit could be fatal.
